JANUARY 2014 will mark The Doctor Who Project’s Fifteenth Anniversary

However, while this marks a special milestone for TDWP after much consideration the Editors have decided that this will also be the appropriate time for the project to say farewell.  After fifteen years of publication, we feel the time has come to bring TDWP to a conclusion and publish the last regular season for the foreseeable future.

Fifteen years is a landmark run in Doctor Who fan fiction and with this in mind, the editors felt that while TDWP is still publishing well-written, entertaining fiction this  would be appropriate the time to bring the project to an end.

Even though TDWP may be ceasing publication, we’re still going to celebrate this landmark by publishing one final season of adventures which will be known as SEASON 40: THE FINAL SEASON.  The final season is scheduled for publication in early 2014.

Over the next few days, TDWP will be releasing further details about this season and about how interested writers will be able to contribute to the season.

Just as I had feared with an earlier post. The end is near.

I must say that although I know this is technically fan fiction, the quality is well above any fan fiction I have read where original Doctors have been used, which in my opinion is much more difficult than writing for the television Doctors.

I am looking forward to the publication of the hardcover and can only hope the website itself will still be maintained for a while, even if new stories are not being published.

Joanne, its always great to hear from our readers and all of us here at TDWP appreciate your support. Not to worry, the site will stay online indefinitely, there’s no plans to close it down. Plus, while we have Season 39 forthcoming as well as Season 40 in 2014, we’ve also got a couple of BRIEF ENCOUNTERS lined up too. So over the next 6 months or so, there’ll still be lots of new stories to enjoy. And, I never say never cause maybe after a little break away from it all who knows. The door may be closing but its not being locked and nailed shut.

Aww, the Doctor Who Project is coming to an end? That’s sad, because I’ve just discovered it. I don’t like it when something I discover is about to end… Well, I’ll be writing my own Doctor Who fanfiction in the same format as this, so there’s that… And I was really liking this, too, and I was especially interested in reading the Timeling Theory… but it wasn’t available…
